Add your first property

Everything in UnlockAbode hangs off a property, so this is step one.

Add the property

1. Open the Properties tab.
2. Tap Add property.
3. Enter the address. A name (like "Green house") is optional — if you skip it, we'll show the street address everywhere.
4. Save. The property appears in your list, and on the map view once we've located the address.

Add units

A single-family home is one unit; a fourplex is four.

1. Open the property you just created.
2. Add a unit and give it a label — "Main" for a whole-house rental, or "Unit 1", "Unit 2" for a multi.
3. Repeat for each unit.

Start a lease

Rent tracking, the tenant portal, and who's-late all key off leases.

1. Open a unit and start a lease.
2. Enter the monthly rent, the start date, and an end date if it's a fixed term (leave it open for month-to-month).
3. Add the tenant's name.

That's it — the unit now shows on your dashboard, and the rent shows up in Money as expected each month.
