Privacy, in plain English

This is a plain-language summary of how UnlockAbode handles data — written to be read, not to hide things. It's our launch policy and will be reviewed by counsel as we grow.
Who we are
UnlockAbode is operated by Unlock Integrations LLC, based in Davenport, Iowa. When this policy says "we," it means Unlock Integrations LLC.
What we store
The information you and your tenants enter to run your rentals: properties, units, leases, tenant and vendor contact details (name, email, phone), the payments and expenses you record, maintenance requests, messages between you and your tenants, and any documents or photos you upload. Plus your account email for signing in, and basic technical logs (like IP addresses) needed to run and secure the site.
What we deliberately don't collect
We keep our data footprint small on purpose. UnlockAbode does not store:
- credit or debit card numbers;
- bank account or routing numbers;
- Social Security numbers, dates of birth, or government IDs;
- credit reports or tenant-screening data;
- your password in readable form — it's hashed by our sign-in provider, so no one at Unlock Integrations LLC can ever see it.
Data about your tenants
When you add a tenant, you're entering another person's contact details. We use that information only to run your account — delivering their portal invite, showing rent status, and passing messages between you. You're responsible for having the right to add them. A tenant can ask you, or us, to access or delete their information.
Who else processes your data
We use a short list of trusted vendors ("subprocessors") to run the service. Each sees only what it needs to do its job:
- Supabase — Database, sign-in, and file storage
- Vercel — Website hosting and delivery
- Cloudflare — Bot and abuse protection on our forms (Turnstile)
- OpenStreetMap / Nominatim — Turning a property address into map coordinates
What we do with it
We use your data only to provide the service to you — showing your dashboard, tracking rent, delivering messages, and supporting your account. That's it.
Your data is yours
Export everything you own at any time, in one click, from your dashboard — no fee, ever. Cancel and your data stays exportable for 90 days, then we delete it. Want it deleted sooner? Email us and we'll do it.
Security
Data is stored on managed cloud infrastructure with encryption in transit and at rest. Every account is isolated at the database level, so one landlord's data is never visible to another. If a breach ever affects your data, we'll tell you.
Changes
If we make a material change to this policy, we'll update the date above and, for significant changes, let you know.
